Each AIS SART is marked with the month and year when the battery should be replaced. To ensure that the device is fully functional, the battery should be replaced before this expiration date is passed. The battery change must be done in a workshop and at the same time the AIS SART is tested with measuring instruments, the transmission is tested and it is tested that it is completely tight in 60-degree water.

If the unit does not pass all the tests after the battery change, you will be offered a new one at a reduced price. In cases where you do not want this but only want scrapping, a basic fee of SEK 500 + VAT (625.-) will be charged for the work done until it does not pass any of the tests. This is how you do it:
